Exciting Times!

Well, I'm really shocked how time has flown and I haven't done a blog since the beginning of December.  Serves me right for nagging at my friend Amy when she got a bit behind with blogging.  Now the shoe's on the other foot and she's loving it!!!

I do have a small excuse though....I have temporarily gone insane and started an online shop!  It's something I've been wanting to do for ages and now it's done.  I tell you though, I think it would have been a whole lot less painful if I had paid someone to set the website up for me and I just come along at the end and manage it from there, but I stubbornly wanted to "do it myself" so that if I had problems or if I wanted to change the look or design then I could do it.  It's been a great learning curve and I can now re-install the whole thing in a matter of a couple of hours from scratch.  Thanks to the free software from Zen-Cart and lots of googling for answers, most of which have already been asked on the Zen-Cart forum.

Anyway, pop on over and have a look.  It's "getting there" I guess is the best word for it.  There are so many great products out there and it's amazing how when you're buying to start-up, money just doesn't go far at all.  Buying from Australian Wholesalers also makes prices higher so although my first few batches of products have come from Australian Wholesalers, I am searching for US Wholesalers and have set-up accounts with many of the paper manufacturers to try and reduce costs.  Importing's not that hard and it's amazing how a parcel from Illinois which left on Friday last week arrived the same day as a parcel that left Brisbane on Thursday last week.  Both parcels arrived on Tuesday this week - quick isn't the word.  The US parcel was great because it contained heaps of Tim Holtz products.  I just love his stuff and while I'm writing this I'm trying to work out what I want to make.

I haven't made anything for ages and I want to make something using his techniques.  I've been making Recipe Cards and I'm thinking about doing some more of them.  They're easier than scrapbook pages because they're smaller, you don't have to match colours to photos and you can do insteresting techniques really quickly.  A bit like Tim's tags I guess, except I don't do quite so many techniques on one page.

Anyway, sorry to be so slack and I'm now going off to "explore" my cupboard and see what I can make.

I know it's not Christmas, but here's a picture of my Christmas Elf, usually known as Sprite.

Watch this space and spread the word as I'm going to run some more Blog Candy soon.  I'll go and have a raid on the "shop" and see what I can come up with.  Don't forget to pop on over to Wild About Scrap and check out some of the specials we have instore.  Check the prices as I'm trying to get products at the cheapest price so that I can pass on the savings to you.
